Purpose:
The IT Support Technician will be the first level support for employees as well as working with the IT team on other network, server, workstation and communication tasks. This role requires a self-motivated individual willing to learn all aspects of supporting our dynamic environment in a team setting.
Responsibilities:
- Perform on-site IT hardware and software support for 300+ employees.
- Prioritize and resolve calls and tickets from critical emergencies to minor issues, and where necessary report the critical emergencies to IT team.
- Configure, deploy and maintain workstations, desktop applications, and network infrastructure.
- Stay informed on new and emerging trends and technologies that provide clear benefits to the organization.
- Communicate technical information to non-technical audiences on paper, via email, over the telephone and in person.
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
- Possesses or working towards the equivalent of a diploma or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Windows desktop/laptop products.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of current communications devices, server and desktop technologies.
- Effective work prioritization & time management skills.
- Proficient problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Self-motivated and disciplined.
- Position requires regular travel to other store locations across Southern Ontario.
- Fluent in both spoken and written English.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Hours outside of regular work schedule may be required.
