Purpose:
Responsible for assessing the value of potential used equipment trades, while maintaining consistency across the organization, specific to trade values. Involves researching market values and trends to provide accurate assessments to support trade-in and resale activities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed reviews of potential used equipment trades across the organization.
- Research and analyze market trends, historical sales data, and current pricing to determine the fair market value of equipment.
- Collaborates with the Sales Team and provides accurate and timely information on equipment valuations.
- Maintain accurate records of all evaluations and appraisals conducted.
- Uploads trades to our website and maintains advertising description accuracy.
- Assist in the development and implementation of evaluation processes and tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Build and maintain relationships with both Deere and competitive dealers to support evaluation research and wholesale efforts.
- Assists with reconditioning efforts and variances issues.
- Assists in conducting annual staff/and or new hire used equipment training, specific to trade evaluations.
Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge:
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and the ability to speak effectively one-on-one or within a group is a necessity.
- Familiarity with agricultural, turf and landscaping practices, or John Deere or competitive AG and Turf products would be considered an asset.
- Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- Ability to use standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions.
- Basic understanding of financial principles relative to Sales Department operations. Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports.
