Essential Duties:

  • Provide Premier Equipment‘s customers with an above average level of customer support encouraging allegiance and professionalism and enhancing the customer’s experience.
  • Support Customer Service Initiatives and other corporate initiatives on an everyday basis.
  • Promote Team Work and a “Customer First” commitment to all Branch and inter-Branch Service, Parts and Sales departments.
  • Assist the service manager with the control of lost time.
  • Work towards reducing overall departmental expenses through vision and persistency. Provide feedback or suggestions, when and where, waste reduction or costs saving measures present themselves.
  • Schedule all service departments trucking as required.
  • Manages the entire work order cycle process; generation through closing and invoicing for customer and internal work orders. Reviews work orders for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assists with the assignment of jobs and work areas to service department employees according to their skills and knowledge.
  • Prepare and present quotes to customers for repairs and obtain approvals.
  • Ensures all assigned work is completed in a timely manner.
  • Ensures all service Warranty and Product Improvement Programs are completed, submitted to the warranty administrator within the required timeframe to receive maximum credit.
  • Schedule all service department trucking as required and assist, inter-departmentally as required.
  • Advises Service Manager of all customer complaints.
  • May approve the release of equipment for delivery to the customer upon payment.
  • Assist in providing performance feedback for service technicians and staff to the Service Manager.
  • Assists with the assignment of jobs and work areas to Service Department employees according to their skills and knowledge.
  • Assists in the appraisal of work orders coming into the Service Department and may participate in repairs. May review work orders for accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide technical support and problem resolution for technicians and all internal and external customers, ensuring healthy relations.
  • Directs and assists in the diagnosis of machine problems with technicians and apprentices.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions.
  • Rotating Saturdays will be required.
  • 3+ years’ experience as a Service Technician.
  • Ability to lead others.
  • Familiar with John Deere and competitive products.
